Esteemed framebuilder Bruce Gordon threw a party for his new bicycle shop and museum — which displays over 30 of his classic bikes from a span of over 20 years — at his shop in Petaluma this past Saturday.
The ass-kickin’ Soil Saloon posse organized a fine race today to help the ongoing fundraising campaign to help Chuey. He’ll be beginning his long legal battle next month and all of the money raised will assist with his future trial.
It’s certainly been an odd week in the dark netherworld of bike theftdom, and I have two stories to report with semi-happy endings. In the first one, the bike thieves were caught — but the bike is still MIA. In the second story, the bike was recovered but the thief is still at large.
There were a ton of cycling events happening this weekend — Levi’s Gran Fondo, CX races, Furnace Creek 508 just to name a few — but the place to be, in my humble opinion, was the Winters 200k.
