The randonneuring team events have not going well for me in the past; I DNF’ed both my Flèche and Dart last year. So after deciding I wasn’t quite ready to tackle DMD this month, I scrambled to find a team at the last minute.
Randonneur Ride Report: Mt. Charlie Meander
I love riding around Santa Cruz, as most of the roads are new to me; I think 90% of today’s 63-mile ride was heretofore unexplored territory. While TBO’s more familiar with the area as he lived here for several years, much of it was new to him as well as he’s only now getting around to checking out the vicinity by bike.
Ride-On: Petaluma Loop de Loop
A mix of old and new Ride-On folks — 15 in all — gathered in Petaluma today for a glorious 50-mile loop through beautiful farm country.

TBO, Daniel and myself took a nice jaunt down the Peninsula today with this permanent; I chose this route as I wanted to check out the new Devil’s Slide multi-use path and it didn’t disappoint — the views are stunning!
Randonneur Ride Report: Cobb Mtn. 300k

The Davis Bike Club’s 300k was my inaugural ride with this group — and my longest ride for this year’s training season to date. I’d been riding a ton of 200k brevets and permanents in preparation for the longer events looming before me on the calendar. With all of those miles in my legs, I felt ready to tackle this 186-mile out-and-back ride which starts in Davis and heads northwest to Cobb Mountain, the turnaround point.
