With the Russian River 300k rapidly approaching in early March, last weekend would be one of the few opportunities left to put in some hard miles. I scanned a map of the Bay Area to see where I hadn’t ridden before — I get bored with pedaling the same routes over and over again pretty quickly — and spotted Mt. Umunhum in the South Bay.
So this happened on my ride tonight.
The Bearded One and I went for an evening fixed gear ride tonight on the Bay Trail in the hopes of rounding up my overall mileage for January to 700. Just as we were approaching the point to turn around so we could find a place to have a late dinner, I suddenly heard a loud, “CRACK!”
Mr. Morgan Meets The Devil
Today was the last opportunity to do a big ride in preparation of the Pt. Reyes 200k, so I chose Mr. Morgan Meets Diablo.
New Year’s Day Ride: Hill 88 + Dias Ridge
Today we rode our mountain bikes in the glorious winter sunshine up to Hill 88.
Journey to Point Molate
There’s a section of the I-580, just before you cross the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge, where cyclists can ride along the shoulder of the highway. I’ve always wondered why anyone would brave this busy little stretch of road, so I did a little research and found out that you can pedal to Pt. Molate.
